Regina Varolli is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of CulEpi, and the author of the Amazon best-seller 99 Things You Wish You Knew Before Going To Culinary School. An internationally recognized journalist, she grew up in the restaurant biz in Los Angeles, where her chef-dad from Reggio Emilia and restaurateur-mom from LA owned and operated several fine dining establishments, their flagship being restaurant St. Tropez in Beverly Hills. From her teens to her twenties she worked various FOH positions in restaurants around Southern California.
Gina is the Co-Curator of the PX+ Hospitality Festival 'Let's Talk About It' series of festival panel discussions focused on celebrating, collaborating, and changing the hospitality industry and the world at large. Founded by CulEpi Contributor Katie Bone, PX+ is a revolutionary industry-only three-day festival held in the English countryside at Duchess Farms.
Prior to the past seven years writing about inspiring people in the hospitality industry for HuffPost and other media outlets, Gina was a journalist covering human rights issues and women’s issues. While living in Washington DC, she was also a Hill lobbyist, in which role she used her powers of persuasion to convince legislators to enact and enforce laws that ensure the fair treatment of minorities and women all over the globe.
Gina has traveled the world in search of great stories, taking her from cacao plantations in the Dominican Republic to tribal ceremonies in the Ecuadoran Amazon to the Bocuse d’Or in Lyon. Always remaining true to her internal compass, she is guided by a desire to inspire others and make a positive impact through her work.
