CulEpi's Restaurant Widow is a thirty-something professional living in NYC.  She is married - albeit widowed in the restaurant industry sense - with a child and a few furry beasts for company.  She loves art, books, wandering without purpose, and reading new recipes (with little intention of making them, her husband does the cooking, when he's actually home).  She loves her husband, and she loves restaurants, but not necessarily the lifestyle that goes with working in one. The idea of a "restaurant widow" speaks to anyone who has someone significant in their life- a spouse, a parent, a best friend- who is "married" to their job. Working in hospitality means working every day, until 2 am, Christmas Day, New Years Eve...sacrifices that resto widows have to make for the ones they love.
