Sandra Canosa is a writer and food enthusiast living in Rochester, New York. She is co-author of the book Suckered: The History of Sugar and writer-at-large on all things music, food, travel, and pop culture. She got her start in the hospitality industry at the age of 16 as a prep cook, but transferred to front of house after an incident with a butternut squash and three stitches in her hand. When she's not writing, you can find her in the kitchen where her knife skills have measurably improved.
